Song
This week's theme at Illustration Friday is "Song". Black gel pen with watercolor. I pleased with it except that the shadow is too busy and dark. I think next time I'll either sketch the shadow and leave it OR add the shadow when I watercolor, not both! It's funny how we look but don't see. I've looked at many a sketch blog yet I can't think how this is usually done. I know there are no rules per se but there are tried and true methods as to what really does look best. Loved the illo, the story, AND reflection about looking vs. seeing. Ain't THAT the truth!! It's like the calamity that happens when I only get to look at something once and then try to draw it....
